/ MILL #1 - MECHANICAL > Welding Process
The resistance
of steel to the flow of a high frequency induced electrical
current, creates intense heat at the strip’s extreme edges.
This Electric Resistance Weld (ERW) process takes edges to
the point of molten, that becomes joined by the weld roller,
creating a formed weld contact that doesn’t require the addition
of filler metal. The transformation from strip to tube is
complete.
